Treating Acne While You Are Pregnant

The hormonal changes during pregnancy can cause a number of changes in your body, including your hair and skin. Increased progesterone and androgen levels can cause your sebaceous glands (the oil glands in your pores) to work overtime, leading to eruptions on your face, upper back, and chest. Even if you have never had to combat acne before, pregnancy can leave you looking for a safe and effective acne treatment. The following suggestions can be helpful for treating acne without causing potential damage to your baby.

Using Medications
Any type of medication, whether prescription or over-the-counter, should be used with extreme caution, and only under the supervision of your doctor. Some drugs used for treating acne, even topical creams, can cause fetal damage that may lead to birth defects.

In general, stay away from topical medications containing benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Acne products containing glycolic acid are considered safe for pregnant women. If you have severe acne that will not clear up with home treatment, see your dermatologist.

Preventing Breakouts
There are several steps you can take to prevent acne or reduce the severity of breakouts.
  1. Avoid soaps and scrubbing when cleansing your skin. Instead, wash with a mild cleanser and rinse with cool water; pat your skin dry rather than rubbing it with a towel. Change your face cloth every time you wash, as bacteria can be left behind that may exacerbate your acne.
  2. Do not pick, squeeze, or pop your pimples. This can lead to scarring, as well as causing irritation that will make your acne problem worse.
  3. Use only water-based foundation products; look for make-ups that are labeled as non-comedogenic (non-acne causing).
  4. Try using a facial mask - preferably clay - every so often to reduce the oils in your skin.
  5. Keep your hair out of your face as much as possible; hair care products and oils from your hair can increase the severity of breakouts.
Warning:
Never use Accutane for treating acne if you are pregnant or may become pregnant. This drug is linked to serious birth defects. Retinoid medications should also be avoided while you are pregnant due to the risk of fetal damage.

If you have mild to severe acne, you know how devastating these unpleasant blemishes can be. To find out more about how you can get rid of zits and prevent them from coming back, visit our web pages at http://www.acnetipsusa.com.

Eczema Treatment

Eczema patients have tried out a lot of cures/remedies. This has made me curious of what natural cures for eczema are indeed available. Have you heard about light treatment? I came across this in reading.

1. Eczema Natural Cures

One of the natural cures for eczema is Ultraviolet rays. Many people claim to be better off undergoing this treatment. Others receive their UV treatment in the hospitals with the supervision of their physicians, but for some, they just stay out under the sun. This will not be a problem for you if you live in a place where the sun is always available. Tanning out for 1-2 hours a week can help clear out your eczema.

For a safer treatment procedure, it is still best to consult your doctor about natural cures for eczema. There are 3 different types of treatment that uses UV. All of these three are done in the hospital. A hospital treatment would be better since it is more specific, calculated and prolonged exposure to sunlight is avoided. Prolonged sunlight exposure would post a risk for skin cancer. Most UV treatment done in the hospital would last for 3 months. Initially, you will be having around five sessions a week and then it is reduced as you undergo the treatment. There are also some additional creams or oral medicine given to you in certain treatments to make you more sensitive to the UV light therefore requiring lesser exposure to UV rays. After these natural cures for eczema, regular visits to the doctor would still be needed and to maintain the skins healed condition, a weekly treatment might be required.

2. Eczema Natural Remedies

There are a multiple eczema natural remedies and they actually work. It's going to be a little hard to look for the exact one that will work for you, but no worries, eczema natural remedies are available and made simple. I have learned about a lot of them but what's stuck in my mind, is what I'd like to let you know.

Eczema natural remedies don't have to be complicated and expensive. Remedies that are natural and could be easily found in your home are tried out and shared by lots of people. Inside your kitchen are a whole lot of things that could serve as a eczema natural remedies.

First of all, using eczema natural remedies is still best. Take note of what triggers your eczema and stay away from it. It might be your new soap, or your clothes. It can also be the foods you eat or just about anything. This might mean you are allergic to those or even a bunch of other things. Don't stop from figuring out what it is that caused your flare ups.

Moisture is really important even as one of eczema natural remedies and there are a couple of ways to keep that moisture in your skin. When taking a bath do not use water that is too hot, don't stay in the shower for too long and do not use strong soaps. All of these could result to depleting your skin's natural oils. Also you can apply coconut oil after taking a bath to keep the moisture in.

Sunlight is also an example of eczema natural remedies. Just spend some time under direct sunlight for at least 2 times a week and you may find your eczema clearing up.

Tomato juice is also said to cause an instant change in your skin condition. Drink plenty of it during the day and after five days, you may find yourself all better.

Skin applications, such as honey and nutmeg are also recommended as one on the list of eczema natural remedies. A paste-like substance made from powdered nutmeg and water is applied directly in the areas affected as frequently as you desire. Honey, with its antibacterial property is also directly placed in the affected area and then covered by gauze and bandage because it's a little sticky.

Collagen - The Right Treatment For a Young and Radiant Skin

People all around the world seek ways to look younger and youthful. While there are many treatments available, not all are healthy for your skin and can have adverse affects. If you want to stay away from all the surgical anti-aging treatments then your prayers have been answered- A product containing pro collagen peptides is in your reach.

With the passage of time, the collagen in our skin breaks down and hence causes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Collagen is very good for the skin; it increases the hydration and improves the extent of moisture retention. Thus it reduces depth of wrinkles. In this world where time is of essence, people tend to ignore their fitness and diet. This ultimately has affects our skin. In order to get the suitable nutrients required for a healthy skin, Collagen supplements should be taken.

However the intake of these collagen supplements might not give the desired results. Since collagen is nothing but a protein, it breaks down into amino acids once it is in the stomach.

Creams and make- up containing also available but again the collagen contained in them is not absorbed by the skin. These creams just cover the wrinkles rather than reducing them. For reducing the wrinkles, collagen must be introduced in the inner layer of the skin, which is not quite possible by just applying creams containing collagen. They remain locked outside the skin and just cover the wrinkles at most.

Collagen injections are also used. While they do make the skin marginally better it has many serious drawbacks. Collagen used in these injections mainly comes from animals. Thus it is a foreign element and it may cause allergic reactions which worsens the skin condition. Even though it is not common in may cause a long term auto- immune disease.

Along with that, the cosmetic affects are not permanent. Even though the collagen injected is inside the skin, it is unable to integrate into the collagen already present in the skin, resulting in a fast breakdown. The smoothing of wrinkles is temporary and the fine lines re- appears.

Now instead of adding more collagen into your skin, how about taking care of what is already present? Yes, that is certainly a better alternative than adding foreign elements into your skin. This new product containing pro collagen peptides works in a miraculous way by sending age- reversal signals to the collagen present in your skin. Hence, it reduces the fine lines and wrinkles and skin looks much younger. It is safe and completely natural with no added chemicals. Gently, it works on your skin and reduces even the deep lines. The results are remarkable. The pro- collagen peptide works naturally and on a cellular level, inspired by a new scientific innovation.

So why let external elements enter your body when internal repair is more effective and definitely long- lasting? With this new product, a younger and fresher skin is within you reach.
